Feeling weak and withdrawn
Waiting for another tragedy to spawn
The dawn always setting
A new day lost to the ethereal feel
Who will lie or steal
That's all you see on tv
Another politician another pack of lies
Another day of hope dies
Will we ever see?
Will we ever be free?

Corporate liars rule the government
Their callous greed can only foment and drool
Over this cesspool
They own the politicians
Their policies endure
People have nothing to procure

Hiding behind the flag
Which comes with a tag
A flag with a price
Paid for with one's vice
Another clever device
To keep one down

Down, down, down
Drown, drown, drown

Drown in debt our own fault
The corporations win by default
We have the power to stop this assault
To this we must call for a halt

We need to stop the greed to be what we are not
Until we stop, we will rot
And shall remain no less
than powerless
